We're the Friends of the Northeast Library
Every library needs friends. FONEL is here to help support our neighborhood library in its mission and to make the library better for all who use it. The group operates independently of the DC library system. We conduct our own fundraising, and we rely heavily on our neighbors and the community.
FONEL funds are used from everything from new equipment for the library's teen room to doughnuts and coffee to thank the hardworking Northeast Library staff.
We meet at the library, usually on the last Monday of each month. Our meetings are always open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
Our organization has volunteer officers: Vince Morris, president; Emily Heil, vice-president; Bill Silagi, treasurer; and Meghan LeDell, secretary.
